Hosted by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO) and the Vietnam-US Friendship Association of Hanoi on July 15, the event attracted a big crowd of Hanoian residents, both local and expats.

Over 277,700 signatures have been collected in Hanoi in the first phase of a campaign called “Appeal of the Hibakusha (atomic bomb survivors)”, which calls for a total ban on nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction.

Over 1,000 contestants from all walks of life, have registered for the contest.
