In the letter, Ambassador Olivier Brochet noted that in recent years, Viet Nam has made significant progress in socio-economic development, international openness, and improving living conditions for its people. According to him, these achievements are the result of the efforts of the entire Vietnamese political system. The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations has made significant contributions to these collective efforts through people-to-people diplomacy and by strengthening friendship with international partners.

The Ambassador also highlighted the close and longstanding cooperation between the Embassy of France in Viet Nam and the Viet Nam-France Friendship and Cooperation Association, a member organisation of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations. This cooperation aims to develop the network of French-Vietnamese partners and support exchanges between the two countries in the fields of culture, healthcare, education, and youth.

According to the letter, the Embassy of France and the Viet Nam-France Friendship and Cooperation Association have also worked together to promote the objectives of Resolution No. 57 on making science and technology a driving force for growth. The Ambassador said this is also the spirit that the French side wishes to demonstrate during the upcoming official visit to France by General Secretary and President Tô Lâm.

He also referred to the Viet Nam-France Friendship and Cooperation Association being awarded the Second-Class Labour Order by the Party and State of Viet Nam, saying that the recognition demonstrates the Association’s important role in strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Regarding the activities of foreign non-governmental organisations in Viet Nam, Ambassador Olivier Brochet said the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations plays an important role in supporting these organisations, including more than 50 French NGOs.

“Through their projects, these organisations are actively contributing to improving people’s living conditions, particularly in rural areas and disadvantaged regions,” the Ambassador wrote.

He expressed his confidence that the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations would continue to provide support so that these organisations can maintain their activities under the best possible conditions and continue contributing to Viet Nam’s development.
