The Canadian Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam is Canada's key partner in ASEAN. According to Ambassador Jim Nickel, the two countries have built a strong foundation for cooperation and still have considerable potential and room to expand and elevate bilateral cooperation, particularly as Vietnam serves as Chair of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) Commission in 2026 and will host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum in 2027.
