According to the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in China, the authorities of Dezhou City (Shandong, China) considered Vietnam as a potential market to cooperate thanks to the increasingly favorable investment environment and growing demand for industrial infrastructure development, and the green transition.

Aspects including modern agriculture, new energy, manufacturing industry, environmental protection, and urban development are identified as potential cooperation areas in the future.

In an interview with VNA correspondent, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Dezhou Municipal People’s Government Tan Mingming said, in recent years, the city had considered cooperation promotion with member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), in which Vietnam was an important partner.

According to her, Vietnam has a positive business environment, high working efficiency, stable social security, as well as a large market with potential for development.

Tan Mingming noted: “Through field surveys, we realised that the investment environment of Vietnam is relatively favorable. Especially, the market potential is large, making these opportunities worthy of attention for Dezhou businesses”.

She said that besides areas including modern agriculture, wood, food and spices processing, the two sides also had much cooperation potential in new industries such as new energy, electric cars, sports equipment, elevators, and green industry.

In the future, the two sides need to continue business connection activities, hold trade promotion conferences, display products, and organize economic cooperation forums to make more opportunities for Vietnamese and Chinese businesses to seek partners.

Besides economic cooperation, the two sides also need to foster people-to-people exchanges, especially youth exchanges to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation.

With positive reviews from local authorities, Dezhou businesses also believe that Vietnam is opening many cooperation opportunities in the process of industrial development and energy transition.

Sharing with VNA correspondent, General Manager of the International Trade Company under Shandong Gerui De Group Hu Shujun said, this business exported many products to Vietnam in recent years, including central air-conditioning systems, ventilation equipment, cooling towers, and environmental treatment equipment.

Hu Shujun noted that Vietnam had a great demand for energy-saving solutions, environmental protection, and infrastructure development due to its rapid urbanization and industrialization.

Therefore, areas including green construction industries, renewable energy, new materials, and smart operation management are potential cooperation areas.

“Vietnam is strongly promoting investment in infrastructure such as the North-South high-speed railway, urban railway systems, industrial parks, and new urban areas; while implementing policies on reducing carbon emissions, renewable energy development, and green industry. These are areas highly aligned with Chinese businesses' development orientation.”, Hu Shujun said.

The Shandong business representative also recommended that the two sides continue to improve trade connecting platforms, making favorable conditions for businesses to understand markets, strengthen technology cooperation, and promote joint venture projects in Vietnam.

According to her, strengthening cooperation between the two countries’ businesses contributes to not only expanding the market but also promoting regional logistics connections aligned with green and sustainable development of ASEAN.

Overall, with its geographical advantages, human resources, economic growth, and the increasingly important role of regional logistics, Vietnam is becoming a market receiving much interest from Chinese locals and businesses.

Expanding cooperation in areas including green industry, new energy, and high technology is expected to create more drivers for Vietnam-China economic relations in the coming years.
