Vietnamese Community in Norway Bridges Vietnam - Norway Friendship and Cooperation

The Vietnamese Ambassador to Norway believed the Vietnamese community in Norway would continue to uphold the spirit of solidarity, act as a bridge to promote friendly relations and cooperation between Vietnam and Norway, preserve their cultural identity and the Vietnamese language, actively integrate into local society as well as that of the homeland.

On August 18th, Vietnamese Ambassador to Norway Le Thi Thu met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Oslo (Norway).

At the meeting, Le Thi Thu informed the Vietnamese community about the country's situation, the outstanding achievements in socio-economic development in recent times, as well as some policies and guidelines of the Party and State regarding overseas Vietnamese, especially Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW dated August 2, 2026 of the Politburo on the work related to overseas Vietnamese.

In response, the delegates representing the Vietnamese community in Oslo positively assessed the new policies and guidelines of the Party and State regarding overseas Vietnamese, especially the continued improvement of mechanisms and policies, creating a favorable environment and conditions for overseas Vietnamese to enhance their status, develop their potential and strengths, and contribute to their homeland.

The delegates shared their thoughts and concerns about preserving, maintaining, and developing the Vietnamese language among the younger generation, especially Vietnamese people born and raised in Norway. They discussed many ideas and suggestions to strengthen bonds within the community and with their homeland.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy in Norway, Ambassador Le Thi Thu thanked the Vietnamese community in the area for their unwavering devotion to their homeland and their many positive contributions, including their role in fostering friendly relations between Vietnam and Norway over the years.

The Embassy will continue to pay attention to, accompany, and support the community within the scope of the functions and duties of the Representative Office, she said.
