According to the Viet Nam News Agency (VNA), on September 9, during the State visit to Russia alongside General Secretary and President To Lam, Ngo Phuong Ly visited School No. 1253. There, she met with the school's leadership, teachers, and both Russian and Vietnamese students.

The meeting took place during the early days of the new school year in Russia, creating a warm and cordial atmosphere. Vietnamese and Russian students performed various acts that highlighted the cultural heritage of both nations and the friendship between the two peoples.

Natalia Akulova, Principal of School No. 1253, stated that the school maintains a close cooperative relationship with the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia. Currently, 30 Vietnamese students are enrolled at the school, where they are supported in integrating, studying, and developing their full potential.

According to Akulova, while the number of Vietnamese students may vary from year to year, they share common traits: strong academic performance, good conduct, and sociability with their peers. Notably, in 2012, her first year as principal, a Vietnamese student from the school won the gold medal at the All-Russian Chemistry Olympiad.

Ngo Phuong Ly expressed her delight at visiting the school and meeting the students in person, including many children of the Vietnamese community in Russia. She thanked the school administration and teachers for their dedicated instruction and for helping Vietnamese students adapt to the new language, environment, and culture.

Ngo Phuong Ly noted that the students' achievements stem not only from a tradition of diligence and a love for learning but also from the vital role teachers play in motivating, guiding, and instructing them. She highly commended School No. 1253’s curriculum, which combines a solid academic foundation, encompassing foreign languages ​​and natural sciences, with modern career-oriented programs, thereby enabling students to discover their unique talents, nurture their dreams, and prepare for the future.

Highlighting the special significance of Russian education for generations of Vietnamese people, Madame Ngo Phuong Ly affirmed that Russia not only imparts knowledge but also helps shape a serious work ethic, independent thinking, and a love for science, culture, and people. The spouse expressed the hope that School No. 1253 would expand its ties with schools in Viet Nam through various forms in the near future, particularly in areas where the school excels, such as foreign languages, natural sciences, medicine, media, and digital technology.

Speaking with the Vietnamese students, she encouraged them to continue studying diligently, cherish the opportunity to grow within a quality educational environment to become compassionate individuals with an understanding of both Vietnamese and Russian cultures, and contribute to sustain the bilateral friendship.

Nguyen Anh Minh Thinh, a young teacher born in 2002, shared a touching story during the meeting. Thinh , a former student of School No. 1253, returned to the very school that had nurtured him to teach English. According to Ngo Phuong Ly, this journey not only demonstrates the personal growth of a Vietnamese student in Russia but also embodies the Vietnamese traditions of respecting teachers and gratitude.

Addressing the Russian students, she expressed her hope that they would have the opportunity to learn about and visit Viet Nam. When a Russian student can say “Xin chào” and a Vietnamese student can recite Russian poetry with genuine emotion, the distance between the two nations feels much shorter.

On this occasion, Madame Ngo Phuong Ly presented the school with a “Viet Nam Bookshelf,” providing teachers and students with additional resources to learn about Viet Nam's history, culture, and people. The visit to School No. 1253 reaffirmed the role of education as a solid foundation for Viet Nam-Russia relations and helped bring the traditional friendship between the two countries closer to the younger generation.
