Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and World Peoples Assembly Maintain Regular Cooperation
At the meeting, Phan Anh Son spoke highly of the coordination between the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the World Peoples Assembly in organizing the “World Peoples Assembly Days in Viet Nam,” saying the event contributed to promoting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Viet Nam and the Russian Federation and strengthening cooperation through the people-to-people diplomacy channel.
Viet Nam and the Russian Federation have a strong foundation of cooperation across various fields. Generations of Vietnamese scientists and experts have studied in the Russian Federation, creating deep connections between the peoples of the two countries. The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations maintains close coordination with the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Viet Nam.

Phan Anh Son affirmed that the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations is ready to continue coordinating with the World Peoples Assembly, while supporting the idea of strengthening the organization’s presence in Viet Nam.
The President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations proposed that the two sides could step up cooperation through the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Viet Nam by organizing activities and implementing specific cooperation plans.
Education was identified as one of the key areas. Phan Anh Son proposed that the two sides develop plans for joint activities and promote exchanges and scientific research between universities in Viet Nam and the Russian Federation. The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations is ready to introduce Vietnamese universities and partners and facilitate connections with the Assembly.

In the cultural field, the President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations spoke highly of the distinctive cultural values of the Russian Federation and expressed his desire for more joint activities to bring Russian culture closer to the Vietnamese people, as well as cooperation between arts training institutions in the two countries.
Tourism was also identified by both sides as a promising area. Viet Nam has waived visa requirements for Russian citizens and currently has multiple air routes connecting the two countries.
He also proposed that the World Peoples Assembly pay attention to promoting two areas: local-level cooperation and economic cooperation. This would add practical content to people-to-people relations between Viet Nam and the Russian Federation. The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the World Peoples Assembly should develop specific cooperation plans to effectively tap into existing potential.
Thanking the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations for its coordination and successful organization of the opening ceremony of the “World Peoples Assembly Days in Viet Nam,” World Peoples Assembly Secretary-General Andrey Belyaninov said the Assembly acknowledges and will take into consideration the proposals from the Vietnamese side.

According to Belyaninov, the World Peoples Assembly has experience in implementing humanitarian activities in many countries and wishes to strengthen its presence in Viet Nam. He said that the combination of community spirit, friendship and an international partner network provides an important foundation for the activities of the World Peoples Assembly.
Andrey Belyaninov expressed his hope that the exchanges between the two sides would be followed up with specific programs. He also invited the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations to attend the second World Peoples Assembly, which will be held in Moscow in September 2026.
