According to Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, close ties between the peoples of the two countries constitute one of the important foundations of Viet Nam-RoK relations. Currently, approximately 350,000 Vietnamese people live, study and work in the RoK, while around 200,000 Korean people live and work in Viet Nam. Together with Viet Nam-RoK multicultural families, these communities are helping strengthen closeness and mutual understanding between the two peoples.

In Ho Chi Minh City alone, more than 80,000 Korean people live and work, while thousands of Korean businesses operate in the city. The Korean community contributes not only to economic development but also actively participates in the city's cultural and social life and people-to-people exchange activities.

Tran Thi Dieu Thuy affirmed that the Ho Chi Minh City Viet Nam-RoK Friendship Association consistently prioritizes its role as a bridge between the peoples of the two countries. In the coming period, the association hopes to strengthen coordination with the Consulate General of the RoK, organizations, businesses, schools, associations and the Korean community in the city to implement practical and substantive exchange activities, focusing on culture, education, youth, tourism, community engagement and cooperation between localities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Jung Jung Tae, Consul General of the RoK in Ho Chi Minh City, discussed the historical significance of Korea's National Day on October 3. He also highlighted similarities between the founding legends of the two nations, particularly their emphasis on shared origins and community spirit.

According to Jung Jung Tae, Viet Nam and the RoK have become close and trusted friends. The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries continues to deepen, with people-to-people exchanges expanding and growing stronger.

The Korean Consul General highly appreciated the role of the Ho Chi Minh City Viet Nam-RoK Friendship Association in promoting people-to-people diplomacy. Through cooperation and exchange activities in various fields, including culture, education, economics, science and technology, sports, tourism and community engagement, the association has helped connect the two peoples and enhance mutual understanding.
