ASEAN Culture Week opens in Mexico
The ASEAN Culture Week was organized at the Headquarters of the Mexican Senate from October 27th - 30th.
The opening ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Mexican Senate’s Foreign Affairs Committee for the Asia-Pacific, Senator Teofilo Torres Corzo and five ambassadors from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam to Mexico with around 500 representatives and visitors.

Addressing the ceremony, Torrez Corso stressed 2015 is the time of the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by the year’s end with the motto “One Vision, One Identity, One Community” and Mexico will always consider ASEAN as its prior partner.
On this occasion, the ambassadors of ASEAN stressed the development potential of relationship between Mexico and ASEAN and being determined to make that potential a reality.
In the framework of the event, a workshop to introduce Vietnam’s culture and tourism potential to Mexican friends was also organized on October 29th.
The ASEAN Culture Week also included a series of activities such as a photo exhibition, a display of traditional foods and a dialogue on tourism and martial arts./.
