Vietnamese educational institutions have created favorable conditions for Lao students in terms of learning environment, facilities, and daily living. They have also organized a wide range of cultural and sports activities, contributing to stronger exchanges and closer ties between students of the two countries.
Alongside the achievements, the conference also pointed out several challenges in the management and support of Lao students, providing a basis for proposing solutions in the coming period.
Speaking at the conference, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh acknowledged the outcomes of the management and training of Lao students in Vietnam. The Ambassador emphasized that Lao students have made strong efforts in their studies and personal development, gradually enhancing their awareness and understanding of the special Laos–Vietnam relationship, fostering solidarity with Vietnamese students, and actively participating in cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges during major events of both countries.
The Ambassador affirmed that these achievements have been made possible thanks to the significant contributions of Vietnamese authorities, localities, and educational institutions in facilitating Lao students’ study and living conditions, from dormitories and teaching equipment to libraries, laboratories, and a highly qualified and dedicated teaching staff who impart both knowledge and practical skills.
In the coming time, the Lao Embassy in Vietnam will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies of both countries to improve the effectiveness of student management and support, thereby contributing to human resource development and strengthening educational cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
Nguyen Hai Thanh, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation under the Ministry of Education and Training, stated that Vietnamese educational institutions are always ready to provide the best possible conditions for Lao students. In the time ahead, the Ministry will proactively coordinate with the Government and the Ministry of Public Security to address issues related to visa issuance and extension, and will also consider recommendations to increase monthly living allowances for Lao students.
