On August 4, in Paris, the Hanoi-France Trade and Promotion Conference 2026 took place with the attendance of around 60 delegates, including representatives of Hanoi authorities, Vietnam’s Embassy in France, Trade Office in France, trade promotion agencies, professional associations, and French businesses.

According to the VNA correspondent in Paris, speaking at the conference, Hanoi representatives introduced the capital’s new development orientations, investment environment, policies to attract international cooperation, as well as potential in trade and tourism.

Through presentations and promotional films, French businesses gained a broader understanding of Hanoi’s development and cooperation opportunities as the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership continues to deepen.

The key feature of the programme was a direct dialogue between Hanoi’s specialised agencies and French companies and associations. Participants discussed the demands of the French market, the development of products tailored to customer preferences, business connectivity, expanded trade cooperation, improvements in tourism product quality, and potential cooperation models for the coming period. Rather than merely presenting potential, the conference focused on addressing businesses’ practical needs and promoting detailed cooperation.

In the framework of the conference, the Vietnam Cultural and Tourism in Europe Association (VNCT) helped organise the conference, connect businesses, and coordinate discussions with the French business community.

Delivering a presentation themed “The role of businesses in more effectively attracting French tourists to Hanoi”, VNCT President Le Y Linh said tourism resources must be transformed into commercially viable products to enhance the destination’s appeal. Following that, linking Hanoi’s Old Quarter with traditional craft villages, artisans, and local businesses would help create more diverse experiences and increase added value for both the tourism sector and host communities.

According to VNCT, for Vietnam’s tourism products to be included in the programmes of international travel companies, stronger coordination is needed among domestic tourism businesses, local service providers, and overseas tour operators to develop products suited to the needs of individual markets.

According to the review of businesses attending the event, approaches emphasizing on direct dialogue between authorities and enterprises created favourable conditions for substantive exchanges on market demand and cooperation opportunities.

French travel media also noted that Hanoi is seeking to develop products suitable for the French market while strengthening links with tour operators and businesses to attract more French visitors in the coming period.

Delegates agreed that cooperation between Hanoi and its French partners should be sustained through business networking programmes, specialised promotion activities, and regular dialogue mechanisms.

The conference is expected to broaden the cooperation network between Hanoi and the French business community, laying the groundwork for specific projects in trade, investment, and tourism.
