According to Vietnam News Agency (VNA), the event was jointly organized by the Vietnamese community in Sakai and Cay Tre Vietnamese Language School for Vietnamese children living and studying in the area. More than 100 students and their families attended the celebration in a joyful and warm atmosphere imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity.

The event, titled “Vui hoi Trang Ram” (Mid-Autumn Moon Festival Celebration), was attended by Nguyen Van Loi, Chief of the Office of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka; Le Thuong, President of the Association of Vietnamese in the Kansai Region and Principal of Cay Tre Vietnamese Language School; and Ngo Thanh Minh, President of the Vietnamese Association in Sakai City and Head of the Organizing Committee, along with numerous parents, students and members of the Vietnamese community in Sakai.

The traditional Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere was recreated through a lion dance, cultural performances, and songs about the festival and homeland performed by students of Cay Tre Vietnamese Language School. The children also took part in group games, socialized with their friends, and enjoyed a traditional Mid-Autumn Festival feast. Mooncakes, a festive food display, and the laughter of children created a warm and intimate atmosphere within the Vietnamese community living far from home.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Van Loi, Chief of the Office of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka, praised the efforts of the Vietnamese community in Sakai and Cay Tre Vietnamese Language School in organizing activities for children.

Nguyen Van Loi emphasized that the event was not only an opportunity for the children to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival but also helped the younger generation of Vietnamese people in Japan preserve the Vietnamese language, gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and traditions, and stay connected with their homeland and roots.

According to Nhan Dan Newspaper, Ngo Thanh Minh, Head of the Organizing Committee, said the event was organized to provide Vietnamese children in Sakai with a space to play, meet friends, and experience the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere of their homeland while in Japan.

Alongside providing children with a space for recreation, maintaining traditional cultural activities is also closely linked to the teaching and learning of Vietnamese within the community.

According to Le Thuong, Principal of Cay Tre Vietnamese Language School, organizing traditional cultural activities for Vietnamese children in Japan is an important part of Vietnamese language education and the preservation of cultural identity. Occasions such as the Mid-Autumn Festival help children gain a better understanding of national customs and traditions and develop a deeper affection for their homeland of Vietnam.
