Amid the villages of Lai Chau's border region, the festive atmosphere grew lively as the 2026 "Border Region - Mid-Autumn Festival Night" program was held at Huoi Luong Primary and Lower Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minority Students in Po To Village, Phong Tho Commune.

The program was jointly organized by the Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Women's Union, local authorities and partner organizations, attracting 860 children.

Amid the lively sound of lion drums, the children watched cultural performances, competed in decorating Mid-Autumn Festival trays, carried lanterns, enjoyed the traditional festival feast and received gifts prepared especially for them. For many children in border areas, the event was not simply a festival night but also an opportunity to have fun, meet friends and feel the care and attention of the community.

On this occasion, the Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard Command, together with participating organizations, presented 67 gifts to students enrolled in the “Nurturing Children's Dreams - Border Guard Station Foster Children” program and the “Army Officers and Soldiers Supporting Children on Their Way to School” project, as well as children facing particularly difficult circumstances who had achieved outstanding academic results.

The Mid-Autumn Festival spirit will continue to spread across Lai Chau's border communes. From now until the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, Border Guard stations will coordinate with Party committees, local authorities and mass organizations to organize Mid-Autumn Festival activities in 11 border communes across the province.

Programs for children facing difficult circumstances are also being held in many other localities. In Quang Tri, on September 16, the Provincial Military Command visited, presented gifts to and celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with students at Dong Hoi Special Education School. Officers and soldiers talked and interacted with the children and joined them in various recreational activities, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.

In Dong Nai, children at the EMH Intervention and Psychological Therapy Center personally colored Mid-Autumn Festival cakes, decorated lanterns and prepared a space to welcome the full moon with their teachers. These activities not only brought joy but also helped the children develop communication and interaction skills and gradually integrate into the community.

Mid-Autumn Festival activities in Dong Nai are expected to be held at 16 locations, with around 10,000 gifts for children facing difficult circumstances, orphans, children with disabilities and those requiring special support.

On the evening of September 17, in An Giang, more than 200 children of union members and workers facing difficult circumstances also took part in the 2026 “Mid-Autumn Festival Night.” The organizers presented 210 Mid-Autumn Festival gift packages, bringing additional joy to the children during the eighth lunar month's full moon.
