The fisherman was identified as Truong Van Trung, born in 1980, and residing in Tay Yen Commune, An Giang Province. According to initial information, Trung fell from a fishing vessel on August 12 and had been adrift at sea continuously for four days. Due to prolonged hunger and thirst, his physical and mental condition had deteriorated, and the fisherman could not yet remember which fishing vessel he had fallen from.
Immediately after bringing him aboard, the officers and soldiers of Ship 743 conducted an initial health examination, provided him with food and drinking water, and arranged a place for him to rest.
