Delivering congratulatory remarks, Huynh Thanh Lap, President of the Viet Nam-India Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, shared the significance of the day the Constitution of the Republic of India came into effect (January 26, 1950) for India’s historical development. Viet Nam and India have a long-standing traditional relationship, sharing many similarities in culture, arts, and religion. This relationship grew even closer after the historic meeting between President Ho Chi Minh and Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1954, and especially after the two countries officially established diplomatic relations in 1972.
