Participants also discussed ways to capitalise on opportunities offered by the Viet Nam–EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), strengthen business connections and exchange market information. A highlight of the forum was the business-to-business (B2B) networking programme, which enabled companies from both countries to introduce their capabilities, discuss their needs and seek partners in manufacturing, trade and investment. The programme also opened up opportunities for further exploration and the promotion of cooperation following the forum.
Earlier, on October 21, Vietnamese Ambassador to Bulgaria Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet and the two provincial delegations held meetings in the city of Plovdiv with Deputy Mayor Plamen Panov, leaders of the Trakia Economic Zone (TEZ), and representatives of universities, associations and businesses.

The Plovdiv side shared its experience in developing industrial parks, attracting investment and fostering links among local authorities, businesses and educational institutions. The two delegations discussed cooperation in industrial infrastructure development, logistics, technology application and human resource training. Tay Ninh proposed establishing channels for exchanging investment information, while Thanh Hoa expressed interest in cooperation in industry, vocational training and tourism.
At TEZ, two letters of intent for cooperation were signed between TEZ and Ha Thanh Investment Corporation and the Thanh Hoa Textile and Garment Association. These agreements provide a basis for the parties to continue discussions and explore specific cooperation opportunities.
Representatives of universities in Plovdiv also expressed their desire to strengthen academic exchanges, welcome Vietnamese students and cooperate in training in engineering, food technology, agriculture and information technology.
On October 20, the two delegations visited and held a working session at the Embassy of Viet Nam in Bulgaria. Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet shared information about the local situation, Viet Nam–Bulgaria Strategic Partnership and cooperation opportunities between the two countries. She emphasised the role of local-level cooperation and business connectivity in translating high-level agreements into concrete outcomes. The Ambassador affirmed her readiness to support the two provinces in identifying and connecting with Bulgarian partners.
The promotional activities took place as Viet Nam and Bulgaria marked the first anniversary of the establishment of their Strategic Partnership. The business meetings, cooperation proposals and signing of the two letters of intent represent initial results, laying the groundwork for the parties to continue exploring investment, trade and human resource training opportunities.
