Attending the Congress, General Ngo Xuan Lich, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People's Army, asked relevant agencies and the provincial Fatherland Front to build up an action plan to realise the provincial Party Congress resolution.
According to Mr. Lich, the province should focus on accelerating economic growth and creating a breakthrough in shifting economic structure with a reduction in the agricultural production and an increase of the industrial and service sectors.
He also urged the province to mobilise capital for strong investment in synchronous traffic infrastructure while realising effectively the policies in recruiting and attracting talent.
The political report during the Congress showed that over the past 5 years, the Tien Giang provincial Party Committee and people had achieved a broad range of success in economic, cultural and social areas, with political stability, security and defence having been reinforced, helping the province develop sustainably.
Also on October 20th, the Congress elected the new-term Party Executive Committee for the 2015-2020 tenure which included 50 members./.
