800 scholarships from Russian Government reserved for Vietnamese students
In 2015, the Russian Government will put aside 795 scholarships for Vietnamese students as part of the project “Russian universities”.
The figure was announced during a press conference on the implementation of the 4th phase of the project, held on September 14th.
According to the organizing committee, the 4th phase which involves 9 Russian universities plays an important role in reinforcing the scientific and educational cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, creating an impetus for Russian projects in Vietnam in the field of technological innovation as well as for cooperation among scientific research institutes.
“Russian Universities” is an educational project by the Cooperation Agency of Russian Federation in collaboration with Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training. It was created as agreement between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Vietnamese State President Truong Tan Sang on strategic partnership.
Since the implementation of the project, over 50 representatives from Russian universities have paid working visit to Vietnam. Through the project, Russian Federation’s educational foundations have successfully signed a wide range of memorandum of understandings (MoU) on cooperation with Vietnam’s leading universities.
Based on the MoUs, the two sides have succeeded in perse educational programs, including exchanges of students and lecturers and joint scientific projects.
As planned, the number of scholarships that the Russian Government reserves for Vietnam will be 1,000 in 2018./.
