Activities nationwide marks Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day
A wide variety of events took place on June 20 across the country to mark the 92nd anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (Jun 21, 1925 – 2017).
Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Organisation Commission Pham Minh Chinh visited and extended greetings to officials, reporters and editors of Nhan Dan (The People’s) Newspaper.
During the visit, the PCC’s member and Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper reported on the achievements that the newspaper has gained over the recent time.
Appreciating the pacifist and leading role of Nhan Dan Newspaper in disseminating the Party's theory on the ideological front, Politburo member Chinh hoped that the newspaper’s officials and reporters would continue to uphold the tradition to create better articles, meeting the Party’s communication requirements and the demand of readers.

The newspaper should enhance the communication of Party building as well as actively coordinate with relevant agencies to effectively conduct the national press awards on Party building.
On the same day, the Politburo member visited the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on the occasion of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
He appreciated the important role played by the VNA in communicating information to Vietnamese people and international friends as well as expressed belief that the agency would better promote the function of a national news agency, contributing to the cause of national construction and defence in the new period.
The PCC’s Commission for Education and Communication, the Ministry of Information and Communication, and Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VJA) jointly held a press conference for the fourth week of June.
Addressing the conference, Politburo member, Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Education and Communication Vo Van Thuong congratulated the journalists, and press agencies around the country on the occasion of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
The Politburo member also asked relevant agencies to give priority to developing the press agencies, both in terms of infrastructure and human resources. He also emphasised that the press agencies should strive to overcome the shortcomings and inadequacies to fulfill their missions over the coming time.
Also on the same day, Politburo member Vu Van Thuong visited and congratulated the VJA and the Children’s Newspaper.
Yesterday evening, he attended an awards ceremony for the 2017 National Press Awards on youth union work and the children’s movement was held. Among 417 entries, 39 most outstanding press works were honoured./.
