At the meeting, Ambassador Fernando Miguel spoke highly of the contributions made by Vietnamese experts who had previously worked in Angola in the fields of healthcare, education and agriculture. According to the Ambassador, their experience, understanding of Angolan culture and people, and strong emotional ties with the country constitute valuable resources for promoting cooperation between the two nations.
The Ambassador noted that, despite the passage of many years, Angolan people still remember Vietnamese teachers and doctors with great respect and appreciation. At many universities and hospitals, the contributions of Vietnamese experts remain in the memories of generations of people. Ambassador Fernando Miguel expressed his hope that Vietnamese experts who had previously worked in Angola would continue to draw on their experience and return to work, invest and do business, contributing to Angola's development and bilateral cooperation.
To connect and mobilize these resources, the Angolan Embassy in Viet Nam plans to organize roundtable discussions involving Vietnamese experts who have had close ties with Angola, particularly those who worked in disadvantaged areas during particularly challenging periods. Through sharing their memories, experiences and affection for Angola, these activities will help strengthen mutual understanding and bonds between the peoples of the two countries.
Ambassador Fernando Miguel expressed his desire to work together to promote the establishment of the Angola-Viet Nam Friendship Association and the Viet Nam-Angola Friendship Association, creating additional bridges for people-to-people exchanges and cooperation. He affirmed that the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations is an important partner in implementing these activities.
President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son affirmed that the two countries still have considerable potential for cooperation, particularly in the fields of economics, science, technology and the training of highly qualified human resources. Strengthening exchanges, fostering connections and leveraging each side's strengths will help expand practical cooperation, promote people-to-people exchanges and consolidate the friendship between Viet Nam and Angola.
