Ambassador Jennifer Wicks emphasized that people-to-people exchanges are closely linked to the priorities of Viet Nam-US relations, including economic, trade and educational cooperation. Exchanges between the people of the two countries play an important role in fostering mutual understanding and promoting cooperative relations.

The Ambassador acknowledged the positive results achieved through bilateral coordination in organizing people-to-people exchange activities in recent years, notably the series of Viet Nam-US friendship festivals, which attracted large numbers of participants. She also spoke highly of the role played by the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations in coordinating with and supporting US non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in implementing activities in Viet Nam, as well as in maintaining and promoting the network of Vietnamese alumni who studied in the US.

Looking ahead, Ambassador Jennifer Wicks proposed that both sides continue to expand activities in technology, innovation, culture, education and English language teaching. According to her, these cooperation programmes have the potential to reach wider communities, helping to nurture friendship and strengthen mutual understanding and bonds between the peoples of the two countries.

The Ambassador expressed her hope that the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the US Embassy in Vietnam would continue to maintain close coordination, explore new opportunities for cooperation and implement practical activities, thereby bringing the peoples of the two countries ever closer together.

President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son emphasized that people-to-people diplomacy is built on sincere feelings and comes from the hearts of the Vietnamese and American people. This sincerity serves as the foundation for people-to-people diplomacy to fulfil its role as a bridge, helping to strengthen mutual understanding, trust and bonds between the peoples of the two countries.

President Phan Anh Son affirmed that the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Viet Nam-US Society would continue to work closely with the US Embassy to promote people-to-people exchanges and cooperation. To translate this direction into concrete action, Phan Anh Son proposed that the two sides coordinate in organizing visits and working trips by the Ambassador to several localities in Viet Nam, as well as conferences and seminars to exchange information and put forward practical cooperation initiatives, contributing to the advancement of Viet Nam-US relations.
