ASEAN Film Festival opens in New Zealand
The ASEAN Film Festival, co-organised by the Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malaysian, the Philippines, Singaporean and Thai diplomatic missions in New Zealand, was held at the Te Papa Museum in Wellington, New Zealand from October 31st to November 1st, 2015.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to New Zealand, Nguyen Viet Dung, who is also Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Wellington, highlighted the significance of the event as contributing to enhancing solidarity among communities from the group’s member countries in New Zealand.
The event was also to promote the land, people, culture and customs of ASEAN member nations in the country.
ASEAN and New Zealand established a comprehensive partnership in 2010 and are considering upgrading their relations to a strategic partnership.
The ASEAN Film Festival was part of activities to mark 20 years of Vietnam’s ASEAN membership and 40 years of ASEAN-New Zealand partnership./.
