Substantive Cooperation Proposals to Strengthen Vietnam-Angola People-to-People Relations

VUFO President Phan Anh Son expressed his wish to further strengthen cooperation between VUFO and the Angolan Embassy in Vietnam. He also put forward specific initiatives aimed at making the bilateral relationship more substantive and meaningful.
In terms of people-to-people exchanges, President Phan Anh Son proposed that both sides coordinate to organize visits to Vietnam for groups of Angolan citizens who have a deep affection for the country and its people, allowing them to learn more through firsthand experiences. He also emphasized the need to enhance cooperation between higher education institutions of the two countries through academic exchanges, the establishment of online forums, and scholarship programs for Angolan students to study in Vietnam.
VUFO President suggested organizing networking activities that connect Vietnamese experts who have previously worked in Angola with representatives of Angolan agencies and organizations that have cooperated with and received support from Vietnam, thereby promoting the friendship network and sharing experiences.

In the field of development, he affirmed that VUFO is ready to cooperate with the Angolan Embassy to facilitate working visits by Angolan delegations to Vietnam for sharing experiences in socio-economic development and connecting with Vietnamese localities and businesses.
He also proposed establishing a mechanism for exchange between generations of ambassadors and diplomats from the two countries, as well as promoting inter-parliamentary cooperation to share experiences in the legislative field.
Ambassador Fernando Miguel expressed his appreciation and agreement with President Phan Anh Son’s proposals, affirming Angola’s readiness to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual potential and advantage. The Ambassador also expressed interest in learning from VUFO’s experience in effectively implementing cooperative programs with foreign non-governmental organizations.
Looking ahead to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Angola diplomatic relations, Ambassador Fernando Miguel expressed hope that both sides will work together to promote people-to-people exchange activities, thereby contributing to the consolidation and development of the traditional friendship between the two countries.
