9 Vietnamese Students Receive Full Scholarships from Fast Retailing Foundation in Japan

On July 13, Fast Retailing Group announced that nine Vietnamese students had been awarded full scholarships from the Fast Retailing Foundation to pursue undergraduate studies at leading Japanese universities. This initiative not only opens new academic opportunities for the recipients but also contributes to strengthening educational cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.

This marks the fourth year the scholarship program has been implemented in Vietnam, bringing the total number of Vietnamese recipients to 36 for the 2023-2026 period.

The scholarships support undergraduate programs taught in English at 12 leading Japanese universities, including the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Osaka University, Waseda University, and Keio University. In addition to covering full tuition and admission fees, the awards provide monthly living expenses and initial settlement costs for students.

Among the recipients, Tran Le Doai Phuong, a student from Hanoi Foreign Language Specialized High School, expressed her aspiration to study in Japan to explore ways of combining traditional cultural values with the modern fashion industry. She hopes that the knowledge gained will help bring products with a strong Vietnamese cultural identity closer to consumers both at home and abroad.

Meanwhile, Trinh Tuan Minh, a student from Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted in Da Nang, expressed his aspiration to research solutions that promote the circular economy and sustainable development, thereby contributing to addressing environmental challenges and advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Beyond personal growth, all scholarship recipients shared their commitment to applying the knowledge and experience gained in Japan to create positive values for the community, fostering innovation and sustainable development in Vietnam.

A representative of the Fast Retailing Foundation emphasized that the program seeks to identify and nurture students with outstanding academic achievements, leadership qualities, and a strong sense of social responsibility. In addition to providing access to world-class Japanese education, the scholarships also strengthen people-to-people exchanges and educational cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.

The recipients expressed their determination to use the knowledge and skills acquired to contribute to Vietnam’s development in areas such as innovation, sustainable growth, and the promotion of Vietnamese cultural values on the global stage after completing their studies.
