According to To Van Dan, Standing Vice President of the An Giang Union of Friendship Organizations, the Van Thanh campus is located across a wide area, about 5 km from the main school, making travel difficult for both parents and students. Currently, the campus has only two deteriorating classrooms for five-year-old children, which are insufficient to meet the learning needs of children aged 3-4, limiting the implementation of universal preschool education.
Based on actual needs, the An Giang Union of Friendship Organizations coordinated with the Viet Nam-Switzerland Friendship Association of An Giang to conduct surveys and mobilize funding. As a result, Associazione ACTI Esperance has supported the construction of two new classrooms with a total budget of over VND 1 billion under a “turnkey” model. The project will be completed and handed over without requiring counterpart funding from the local government.

The addition of new classrooms is expected to address the shortage of facilities at the Van Thanh campus while enabling the school to more effectively implement preschool education programs. Beyond improving infrastructure, the project also carries significant humanitarian value, providing children in disadvantaged areas with a safer and more conducive learning environment.
To Van Dan noted that once the two classrooms are completed and put into use, they will help resolve the shortage of classrooms and ensure that local children can attend school at the appropriate age.
Dinh Thi Kim Thai, Principal of Tho Son Kindergarten, said the school has received ongoing support from authorities, organizations, sponsors, and parents, contributing to improvements in childcare, nurturing, and education quality. However, with increasing enrollment demand, the school still faces infrastructure challenges, particularly a shortage of classrooms.
The construction of two additional classrooms is expected to gradually improve the school’s facilities and better meet children’s learning needs. The school will work closely with the contractor to ensure construction progress and quality, while maximizing efficiency once the classrooms are operational.
Sharing her joy, My Chau, a parent in Hon Dat commune, said that providing children with a safe and well-equipped learning environment is a common wish among parents. Once the project is completed, children will benefit from better conditions for both learning and daily activities.
The joint efforts of friendship organizations, donors, and local authorities continue to enhance the quality of preschool education, laying a foundation for the development of younger generations in disadvantaged areas.
