Da Nang Airport’s dedicated international terminal inaugurated
Da Nang Airport’s international terminal T2 was formally put into operation on May 19 after nearly one and a half years of construction.
In addition to the passenger terminal, the VND3.5 trillion (US$154 million) project also includes three other components, namely a flyover in front of the terminal, a technical building as well as an additional car park.
The T2 terminal, covering an area of 21,000 square metres and located to the north of the domestic terminal, consists of 40 check-in counters, 20 customs departure counters, 22 customs arrival counters and 10 boarding gates, four of which are equipped with jet bridges.
The new T2 terminal also features a business lounge which covers 860 square metres on the third floor and can accommodate up to 180 people.

With the addition of the T2 terminal, the annual capacity of Da Nang Airport will increase to up to six million passengers.
Deputy Minister of Transport Le Dinh Tho said the terminal’s completion will help the resort city of Da Nang welcome more visitors whilst also helping in preparation for the APEC Summit to be held in the city later this year.
The T2 terminal will also help enhance Vietnam’s aviation infrastructure as Da Nang is one of the three major airports in Vietnam alongside Noi Bai serving Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City.
It is forecast that passenger throughput at Da Nang Airport will increase to 2.3 million by 2022, 4 million by 2025 and six million by 2030./.
