Direct flights to be needed to promote tourism between Vietnam and Indonesia
In the morning of Oct 25th, the Indonesia Embassy in Hanoi held a seminar on tourism promotion between Vietnam and Bali (Indonesia).
At the event, Indonesia Ambassadors Ibnu Hadi mentioned two challenges in developing tourism Vietnam and Bali, that is flights and price. Because there is no direct flight from Vietnam to Bali, travel cost greatly increased.
There are about 50,000 Vietnamese visitors to Indonesia and 70,000 Indonesian visitors to Vietnam each year. This is a very humble figure compared to population of the two countries.
The ambassador said Indonesia was trying to cooperate with Vietnam Airline to open direct flights from Hanoi to Jakarta. Now, there are only direct flights to from Ho Chi Minh city.
The ambassador also thanked travel companies, media agencies for attending the event.
