German companies to research investment in Vietnam

A delegation of 10 German enterprises will visit and expand cooperative relations with Vietnamese firms in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city from October 12th to 16th, reported the German Embassy in Vietnam on October 5th.

The delegation, led by Mr. Peter Alltschekow, GTAI Managing Director for Eastern Germany, will conduct market research, seek potential partners and research investment opportunities in Vietnam.

The 10 German enterprises operate in the fields of overall architecture and fresh water project construction, building materials for interior and outdoor decorations, precast concrete industry and prefabricated houses, hand-held building devices, machines and devices for ophthalmology, chemicals used in the leather industry and potato plantation..

There will be two forums, themed “Trade Bridge between Vietnamese and German Enterprises” and banquets in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. At the seminars, the enterprises will have opportunities to meet and exchange production and business experiences as well as technology and technological transfer.

Germany is now a key Vietnamese partner in the EU.. Bilateral trade reached nearly EUR8 billion in 2014 with an average trade growth of 15-20% over the past five years.

Vietnam’s main export commodities to Germany in 2014 were telephones and their components (26%), garments and textiles (14%), footwear (11%), coffee (9%), and seafood (4%). Meanwhile, over 45% of Germany’s products in Vietnam are machines and devices./.
