Hanoi's agricultural products to be exported to Japan and Malaysia

The Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Japan’s Meika Soji Group and Malaysia’s Supreme Fresh Farm SDN BHD Company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on supplying and exporting Hanoi agricultural products to Japan and Malaysia.

The Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Japan’s Meika Soji Group and Malaysia’s Supreme Fresh Farm SDN BHD Company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on supplying and exporting Hanoi agricultural products to Japan and Malaysia.

The MoU aimed to set up international standards for the value chain of orange, fresh pomelo and longan.

Accordingly, Meika Shoji pledged to transfer technology from production to harvest, preliminary treatment and storage, and advise the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development about market information, law regulations, prices and other characteristics of high-standard markets, especially Japan.

Fresh Farm SDN BHD will provide a set of standards, production processes, harvest and maintenance and arrange exports and distribution of Hanoi farm products to Malaysia.

Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chu Phu My said that Hanoi has much potential in developing high-quality farm produce such as orange, fresh pomelo and longan. The city planned to produce these fruits under a system applying hi-tech and aiming at economic value.

While Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu stressed that the city will create every favorable condition for foreign businesses to invest in the field, and he proposed that Japanese and Malaysian businesses focus on transferring technology, building a product chain from production to consumption, and intensifying promotion./.
