HIV-infected children receive presents on International Children’s Day
The Ministry of Health and the Fund for HIV/AIDS-infected people visited and presented gifts to children infected with HIV/AIDS at the Social Labour Education Center No. 2 in Ba Vi district, Hanoi on International Children’s Day (June 1st).
Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long appreciated the efforts of the staff at the center in caring for and bringing up children, saying that the center is home to the children to integrate into society and help them have a healthy and equitable life like other normal children.
He was also delighted while the HIV-infected children at the center had been receiving antiretroviral treatment with the number of good students increasing compared to previous years showing that the children had overcome stigmatism to get ahead in life, as well as in study.
The Deputy Minister expected the next time, children infected with HIV/AIDS in Hanoi in general and at the center in particular are interested in being cared for and treated normally with the aim of becoming useful citizens in society.
During the visit, the delegation presented 80 gifts worth VND14.5 million, nearly VND40 million in cash, cakes, candy, 25 boxes of fresh milk and other products to children.
The Social Labour Education Center No. 2 is currently caring for and bringing up 79 children, including 77 orphans infected with HIV/AIDS./.
