The 13th National Congress of Delegates of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union officially opened this morning, June 24, with the participation of nearly 800 delegates.

Taking place over two days, June 24-25, the Congress comprises four sessions and centers on three major issues: reviewing and evaluating Youth Union work and youth and children's movements during the 2022-2026 term; defining objectives, tasks, and solutions for the 2026-2031 term; amending and supplementing the Charter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; and electing the 13th Central Committee of the Youth Union.

On the morning of June 24, during the first session - the opening session - the Congress elected the Presidium, Secretariat, and Credentials Committee; adopted the Congress agenda and regulations; heard the report on delegates’ qualifications; and received summaries of key documents along with guidelines for group discussions.

During the second session, held on the afternoon of June 24, delegates will elect the 13th Central Committee of the Youth Union for the 2026-2031 term and participate in discussion forums to provide feedback on draft Congress documents.

The formal plenary session will take place on the morning of June 25 and will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, and the Youth Union’s digital platforms. The program will include the presentation of the Political Report, delegates’ speeches, directives from Party and State leaders, and the introduction of the 13th Central Committee of the Youth Union.

On the afternoon of June 25, the Congress will enter its closing session, during which discussion outcomes will be consolidated, important matters will be voted on and adopted, tribute will be paid to the 12th Central Committee of the Youth Union, and the Congress Resolution will be approved.

As part of the Congress, the Central Committee of the Youth Union is organizing an exhibition entitled “The train advancing into a new era” at the National Convention Center on June 24-25. The exhibition serves as a space connecting the past, present, and future, where delegates and guests can reflect on the glorious history of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, experience the outstanding achievements of Vietnamese youth, and share aspirations and messages for action in the country’s new stage of development.

Earlier this morning, delegates attending the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum, reported achievements to him, and offered incense in commemoration of fallen heroes and martyrs at the Bac Son Monument.
