Ho Chi Minh City's Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Extends Tet Greetings to Expat Businessmen

In 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City's Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (OV) Affairs will build a meeting point for OVs and Ho Chi Minh cultural space at the unit's headquarters, head of the municipal Committee for OVs Affairs Vu Thi Huynh Mai, informed when she came to wish New Year to OVs businessmen in Ho Chi Minh City.

The delegation led by Mai visited and wished New Year to several outstanding expats in HCM City such as Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, Filipino expatriate, Chairman of Imex Pan Pacific Group; Tran Tue Tri, Singaporean expatriate, Senior Advisor to Vietnam Brand Purpose; David Duong, American expatriate, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vietnam Waste Treatment Company Limited; Le Thi My Chau, Director of First Vina Company; Lam Chi Thien, General Director of IMC Group; Dinh Vinh Cuong, Japanese expatriate, Chairman of 365 Group.

At the meeting, Mai visited and wished a happy Tet to typical overseas Vietnamese businessmen in the southern metropolis.

At the same time, she also quickly informed expat entrepreneurs about the socio-economic situation in 2023, especially emphasizing the implementation of Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly in HCM City.

According to Mai, this year, the committee will build a meeting point for OVs and Ho Chi Minh cultural space at the unit's headquarters.

The project promises to become a place for the Vietnamese community abroad to place their trust in the city's leaders about their opinions, and suggestions on the constitution as well as support and answer questions from overseas Vietnamese and provide information. projects calling for investment in the southern largest economic hub.

During the Lunar New Year 2024, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese organized four delegations to visit and wish New Year to businessmen, intellectuals, OVs artists, and families.

​Last week, over 1,000 delegates representing more than 6 million Vietnamese living in all continents attended the "Xuan Que Huong" (Homeland Spring) program in HCM City.

This is the largest political, external, and cultural event connecting Vietnamese people at home and abroad, and also an opportunity for Party and State leaders to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of OVs.
