Japanese seafood firms seek cooperation with Vietnam
On April 23rd, 20 small to medium-sized seafood businesses of Ishinomaki city in Japan’s Myagi province met Vietnamese seafood processors in Ho Chi Minh city.

Ishinomaki is a Japanese fishing town well known for its oysters, scallops and seaweed. It has a large and powerful fishing fleet. Its seafood import from other countries and processing for exports are very large-scale.
The town was amongst the hardest hit by the 2011 tsunami. After four years of rebuilding, the town recovered and operated normally.
Currently, many import and export businesses from Ishinomaki are planning to expand cooperation with Vietnamese businesses such as providing fish and materials for the processing of Basa, Mackerel and Greater Amberjack which are specific seafood products of the location./.
