According to the Embassy of Viet Nam in the Czech Republic, during the meeting, Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam called on the Karlovy Vary regional authorities to facilitate the organisation of Vietnamese language classes in schools, helping children from the Vietnamese community preserve their mother tongue and national cultural identity.

The Ambassador noted that approximately 6,000 Vietnamese people currently live in Karlovy Vary, accounting for around 2% of the region's total population. In addition to Vietnamese language instruction, he proposed that the local authorities provide a site for the construction of a Vietnamese Buddhist pagoda to meet the community's cultural and religious needs.

In response to these proposals, Governor Petr Kubis said they would receive due consideration, including the possibility of introducing Vietnamese language instruction in schools across the region.

During the meeting, Petr Kubis spoke highly of the contributions made by the Vietnamese community to the socio-economic development of the Czech Republic as a whole and the Karlovy Vary Region in particular. He affirmed that the regional authorities would continue to create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate more deeply into local society.

The high-level delegation from the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front meets with Karlovy Vary Governor Petr Kubis.

Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Party Central Committee and Vice President and Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, commended the efforts of the Karlovy Vary regional authorities in local development and their attention to the Vietnamese community. She emphasised that the nearly 90,000 Vietnamese people living in the Czech Republic, including those in Karlovy Vary, not only make positive contributions to the host country's socio-economic development but also serve as a bridge of friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

To further promote this role, Ha Thi Nga called on the regional authorities to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese people to stabilise their lives, conduct lawful business activities, and have their legitimate rights and interests protected. She also expressed her hope for stronger people-to-people exchanges and greater cooperation in culture and education, including activities to introduce Vietnamese culture and promote exchanges between young people and students from the two countries.

Regarding local-level cooperation, Kubis said that, in addition to the twinning agreement with Quang Ninh Province, the Karlovy Vary Region was ready to expand cooperation with other localities in Vietnam. With its strengths in resort tourism, supporting industries and high technology, the region hopes to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including tourism, healthcare, education, heavy industry, and crystal and ceramics production.

Ha Thi Nga proposed that the two sides explore opportunities to expand cooperation between Karlovy Vary and Vietnamese localities in tourism, human resource training and business networking. Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam also proposed strengthening cooperation in the training and recruitment of Vietnamese caregivers and nurses to work in the Czech Republic, thereby helping address the country's workforce needs in the healthcare sector.
