Attending the program were representatives of the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO); Indian tour operators, and representatives from departments, sectors, the Tourism Association, and tourism businesses in Lam Dong province.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong Vo Thanh Huy said that the province had many advantages when converging sea, highland, forest, lake, geology, and diverse cultural values. This is the foundation for the province to form a linking tourism ecosystem, developing products of resorts, ecosystem, culture, healthcare, agriculture, and MICE following high-quality, sustainable, and international integrated criteria.

For Lam Dong, India is a potential market with development capacity. In 2025, the province welcomed around 9,000 Indian tourists and around 6,000 in the first six months of 2026. These results demonstrate the strong demand and opportunity for cooperation between Lam Dong and India.

“ What Lam Dong cares about is not only to increase the number of tourists, but also to deeply understand the demand of the market to create suitable products with high quality and competitiveness. Lam Dong gives priority to resort, wedding tourism, MICE, healthcare, and Halal, while gradually improving service quality and human resources to welcome international tourists”, Huy said.

Head of the Indian working group, Chairman of Garuda Tourism Kukunuru Ranga Readdy, noted that, through the survey process in Lam Dong, the delegate praised the diversity of tourism-service products, natural beauty, accommodation system, and capacity to develop products suitable for the Indian market.

He also offered some suggestions to raise Lam Dong’s tourism-service quality, while expecting detailed tours and routes to be built by the two sides after the survey trip.

At the program, delegations and tourism-service businesses in Lam Dong province and Indian partners exchanged information and discussed striving for tourism-service development cooperation. Partners from both sides directly shared information about market demand, products, services, connecting tour routes capacity, two-way tourist exchange, and cooperation solutions in the coming time.

This is part of welcoming delegations from the Halal key market and India coming to search for and understand the tourism products and services in the east and centre of Lam Dong province from August 10 to 14.

In the coming period, Lam Dong province and Indian partners expect the program to focus on three main points, including developing suitable products for the Indian market together; promoting businesses, tours, routes, and tourist exchanges; promoting aviation connections; and promoting markets while expanding cooperation in culture, trade, and investment.
