- In your opinion, what is the significance of the 2026 election of deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels in Vietnam?
The upcoming election of deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels is an important event in Vietnam’s political life, taking place at a time when the country is entering a new stage of socio-economic development. Over the past 40 years of implementing the Doi Moi policy, Vietnam has demonstrated impressive capacity in modernizing its institutions and transforming its economy.
Elections create conditions to bring managerial talent and intellectual potential into the state governance system, which is particularly important in the context of rapidly accelerating globalization and technological change.
Vietnam’s historical tradition reflects a close bond between the state and the people. This is one of the core elements of Ho Chi Minh’s political philosophy. He emphasized that state power must be based on public trust and serve the interests of the people. In this sense, elections ensure the reinforcement and renewal of this relationship, contributing to the stability of the political system, reflecting society’s expectations, and promoting the country’s development.
Political stability is the most important condition for ensuring a nation’s sustainable development as well as effective international cooperation. Vietnam’s experience demonstrates that the consistency of political orientation and the solidity of state institutions can go hand in hand with vigorous economic modernization and the expansion of international relations.
For Vietnam’s international partners, including Uzbekistan, political stability is an important factor in building trust. It also provides Vietnam with favorable conditions for economic development, attracting foreign investment, and strengthening international relations.
- In your view, what favorable conditions for national development have been created by Vietnam’s state apparatus reforms in 2025?
The reforms in state governance currently being implemented in Vietnam reflect the government’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of the administrative system and adapt to new requirements in the country’s socio-economic development process. Optimizing the structure of state bodies, reducing redundant administrative procedures, and applying modern management methods help create a more rational environment for the formulation of state policies.
Such transformations play an important role in enhancing the transparency of public governance and strengthening trust among the business community, the scientific community, and international partners. The development of a more flexible and efficient state governance system contributes to improving the investment climate while facilitating economic growth in the next stage.
Another important factor is the expansion of interaction between the state and institutional organizations. Non-governmental organizations, research centers, and expert communities are increasingly active in discussions on socio-economic development initiatives. This model of cooperation aligns with modern governance trends and helps ensure that decisions are more comprehensive and based on a solid scientific foundation.
- What are your expectations for the role of the 16th National Assembly of Vietnam in strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Uzbekistan?
The activities of Vietnam’s 16th National Assembly are of great significance for the development of parliamentary diplomacy and the strengthening of Vietnam’s international relations.
In particular, the development of relations between Vietnam and Uzbekistan holds special importance. The friendship between the two peoples has a deep historical foundation, originating from humanitarian and educational cooperation during the 20th century. Many Vietnamese students and specialists studied at educational institutions in the former Soviet Union, including scientific and training centers located in what is now Uzbekistan.
Today, cooperation between Vietnam and Uzbekistan is developing in many new forms. Bilateral relations are being actively promoted in such areas as education, scientific exchange, tourism, cultural exchange, and people-to-people diplomacy. Universities, research institutes, social organizations, and friendship associations play an important role in expanding direct contacts between the societies of the two countries.
It can be expected that deputies of the new National Assembly will continue to support the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue and humanitarian cooperation, thereby creating additional opportunities to strengthen the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Uzbekistan.

In the current context, Vietnam’s modern development can be seen as a natural continuation of the ideas and political legacy of President Ho Chi Minh, who envisioned the country’s future based on the combination of national independence, social justice, and openness to international cooperation. The Doi Moi policy has been successfully realized, enabling Vietnam to integrate into the global economy and affirm its rightful position in the international system.
In this process, state institutions, including the National Assembly of Vietnam, play an important role. At the same time, people-to-people diplomacy as well as cultural and educational exchanges between nations also carry special significance. Relations between Vietnam and Uzbekistan are built on this humanitarian foundation. The two countries are connected by a tradition of respect and cooperation. Strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue, expanding academic exchanges, developing tourism, and promoting cultural initiatives can bring new substance to the relationship while opening additional prospects for a long-term partnership in the 21st century.
