Nearly 280 initiatives on environment management recognised

Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha has signed a decision recognising 276 initiatives by 219 inpiduals on solutions bringing practical efficiency for the natural resources and environment sector in 2015.

These were technical solutions that brought practical efficiency for the sector and made active contributions to national socio-economic development.

The initiatives at the national level included the building of a national action plan on climate change, the plan for climate change and sea rise; the initiative on preparing a report and attendance at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP 21, in Paris.

The year 2015 saw important initiatives in building and completing polices and laws, creating a legal corridor in the management of the natural resources and environment sector, including an initiative in building and issuing the law on marine and island resources and environment, law on hydro-meteorology; initiatives on building land database and the completion of tools on the management of marine and island resources.

At the ministerial level, the initiatives helped to increase administrative reform and applications of information and technology at work.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the recognition of initiatives will help to develop emulation movements in the sector in terms of national development during international integration./.
