Based on the quantity of national reserve rice available at the time of release, the State Reserve Department has assigned regional State Reserve Sub-Departments to coordinate with the Ministry of Ethnic Minority Affairs and Religions and the Ministry of Education and Training to directly transport national reserve rice to university preparatory schools, Friendship 80 School, Friendship T78 School, and Viet Bac High School for Ethnic Minority Students. The rice will be delivered using vehicles provided by the delivering party.
Regional State Reserve Sub-Departments will arrange the transportation of national reserve rice to the units receiving the rice in the provinces and cities at commune-level centers (communes, wards, and special administrative zones under provincial-level administration), according to the allocation plans of the People's Committees of the 31 provinces and cities.
Earlier, on the morning of August 14, the People's Committee of Tam Chung Commune, Thanh Hoa Province, also organized the distribution of rice support for the second quarter of 2026 to households participating in forest protection and development in the area. A total of 99,170 kg of rice was distributed in this round, with a total implementation budget of more than VND 2.086 billion. The review and compilation of eligible beneficiaries were conducted based on actual needs in the villages, ensuring that the assistance reached the right beneficiaries and did not overlap with other support policies.
The policy of providing rice support to people participating in forest protection and development has practical significance for ethnic minority communities, poor and near-poor households, and households contracted to protect forests. It thereby contributes to ensuring livelihoods, creating income-generating opportunities, and raising people's sense of responsibility for forest management and protection, helping them remain committed to the forests and contributing to the preservation of forest resources.
