This is a regular activity to strengthen ties between schools in Hanoi and Fukuoka while giving teachers and students from both sides opportunities to interact and share experience in educational management, teaching and learning.

The Fukuoka delegation comprises 45 students and more than 10 officials and teachers visiting Hanoi from August 4 to 8, 2026. Three Hanoi schools are hosting the students, including Viet Duc High School, Phan Dinh Phung High School, and Phenikaa School.

During their stay, the Japanese students are living with Hanoi students’ families under a homestay arrangement, enabling them to experience Vietnamese daily life, culture and customs.

Representing the Japanese delegation, Head of the Japanese delegation, principal of Nakamura Gakuen Sanyo High School, and Chairman of the Asian Exchange Committee under the Fukuoka Association of Private Schools Yoshitaka Kajihara believed that despite differences in language and customs, living and interacting together would help the students mature and contribute to greater mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Hanoi, the cultural and educational exchange programme between high school students from Hanoi and Fukuoka has been maintained regularly for more than 15 years, with between 40 and 60 students from each side participating annually.

In addition to creating opportunities for student exchanges, the programme also serves as a forum for education managers and teachers from the two localities to share experience in educational administration and teaching organisation, while expanding cooperation among educational institutions.
