Party chief commits support to defence ties with Cuba
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President Nguyen Phu Trong has committed all possible support to defence ties with Cuba, contributing to further deepening the special friendship between the two parties, States, and armies.

During a reception in Hanoi on November 26 for Politburo member of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) and Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba Leopoldo Cintra Frias, the host congratulated the Party, State, and people of Cuba on their achievements in updating their socio-economic model in the spirit of the sixth and seventh Congresses of the CPC.
He also congratulated their success in amending the Constitution of Cuba, with the involvement of people from all walks of life.
The Party chief expressed his belief that the two armies deserve the trust of the two countries’ parties and people, and stand ready to fight for national independence, freedom, and socialism.
Frias, for his part, informed his host about the outcomes of his working sessions with the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence agencies, the implementation of the 2017-2019 cooperation plan between the two defence ministries, as well as measures to foster bilateral defence links./.
