Party Chief hopes for deepened ties between VN, Mozambican parties
The cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Mozambique Liberation Front (Frelimo) needs to be developed in a more effective and practical manner for the common benefits of the two countries’ people as well as for peace and development in the region and the world.
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong made the affirmation while receiving Mozambican Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosario in Hanoi on August 1st.

He spoke highly of the valuable, effective support and assistance that the Mozambican Party, State and people have given to Vietnam during the past struggle for national liberation as well as in the current national construction and defence.
He congratulated Mozambique on its political and socio-economic achievements gained under the leadership of Frelimo over the past time.
Party leader Trong also highlighted that the fine CPV-Frelimo relationship has contributed to promoting the traditional solidarity and friendship between the two States and their people.
For his part, the Mozambican PM valued Vietnam’s achievements and experience in national development as well as its prestige and position in the region and the world.
He affirmed his country’s determination to fostering the friendship and cooperation with Vietnam in all spheres, especially telecommunications, agriculture, investment and trade.
The traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and Mozambique have been consistently growing across various spheres, relating to politics, economics, trade, education and culture. Since establishing their diplomatic ties on June 25th, 1975, both countries have supported each other in past struggles for national independence as well as the current causes of national construction and economic development in each nation. Vietnam reopened its embassy in Mozambique in 2009, while Mozambique opened its embassy in Hanoi in August 2011.
The fine relationship between the two countries has been marked by the mutual visits made by their respective leaders, notably Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang’s visit to Mozambique in March 2016 and the visit made to Vietnam by Mozambican PM Aires Bonifacio Baptista Ali in September 2010./.
