Việt Nam attaches great importance to developing the friendly relations and comprehensive co-operation with its neighbours, he said, urging the ambassador to make practical contributions to the relationship in the future.
Xiong pledged to do his utmost to promote the China-Việt Nam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership for the interests and development of each country, thereby contributing to peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

Meeting Danish Ambassador to Việt Nam Kim Højlund Christensen, PM Phúc said Việt Nam and Denmark should co-ordinate closely with each other to realise agreements reached during his visit to the European country last October.
He said the current trade turnover of US$700 million between the two countries has yet to match their potential and voiced his hope that Việt Nam and Denmark will step up bilateral trade and investment ties.
The leader asked the ambassador to organise more trips for Danish businesses to Việt Nam in order to seek new opportunities and called for Denmark’s support to Việt Nam’s prioritised projects in climate change response, environmental protection, education and health care.
PM Phúc said he believed the ambassador, with his diplomatic experiences, will make practical contributions to the bilateral relations in the future.
Christensen expressed his delight at the fruitful relationship between the two countries and promised to work hard to push ahead with the implementation of agreements reached.
Many Danish enterprises have shown interest in investing in Việt Nam, he said, lauding the Vietnamese Government’s efforts in improving the investment climate.
The diplomat promised to make every effort to raise bilateral trade.
