President of Swiss Council of States wraps up Vietnam visit
President of Council of States of Switzerland Ivo Bischofberger left Hanoi on March 31st, concluding his four-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
During his stay, Ivo Bischofberger held talks with NA Chairwoman Ngan and paid a courtesy visit to President Tran Dai Quang. He also had working sessions with representatives from Vietnam’s Ministries of Industry and Trade, and Education.
The two sides expressed their joy at the flourishing bilateral relations, especially in politics-diplomacy, trade-investment, and development cooperation.
They wished to maintain exchange of all-level visits and cooperation at multilateral parliamentary forums and organidations, order to further promote understanding and political trust, thus deepening the bilateral ties.

They also pledged to continue encouraging their enterprises to invest in each other’s markets.
The two sides agreed on a closer link in education and training, especially vocational training with connection with Swiss enterprises investing in Vietnam.
The Swiss side was suggested support Vietnam in building a high-quality education system and boosting sci-tech research and training in universities and research centres.
Switzerland will hold vocational training courses for Vietnam and increase the number of scholarships to Vietnamese students to pursue study in the majors of law, banking, high technology, and tourism, which are strengths of the European country.
Affirming parliamentary cooperation is one of the effective collaboration channels between Vietnam and Switzerland, the two sides agreed that they will increase delegation exchanges to share experience in parliamentary activities, laying a foundation for developing more intensive and effective relations between the two countries across fields.
On this occasion, Mr. Bischofberger paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum./.
