Speaking at the ceremony, Ho Van Ven, a representative of the citizenship recipients, thanked the Vietnamese Party and Government and vowed to comply with their guidelines and policies, as well as the country’s constitution and regulations.
Following the ceremony, the newly officiated citizens received guidance on the application of birth certificates, identity cards, and marriage registration documents.
Vice Chairman of the provincial Quang Tri People’s Committee Ha Sy Dong said that there are another 696 Lao migrants, living in Vietnam’s border region without marriage certificates, hoping to receive Vietnamese citizenship.
To create optimal conditions for local residents to stabilise their lives and ensure security-order in the border region, the province is striving to complete procedures to grant Vietnamese citizenship to them by the end of June 2019, Dong said./.
