Ba Ria-Vung Tau has so far put 28 projects into operation in the seaports system with a total capacity of more than 87 million tonnes. Total implemented capital in the system reached more than VND42.3 trillion.
Aiming to improve competitiveness of port and logistics in 2015, Ba Ria-Vung Tau strived to perform administrative reform in exports and imports, especially applying online custom procedures in the provincial Department of Customs at seaports in order to create opportunities for ships to operate international transport routes to the Cai Mep-Thi Vai seaport.
The province is also building a logistics development project until 2020 to increase sales of port services. Under the project, the province will construct a logistics service centre covering 1,000 hectares with a free trade centre at the lower Cai Mep-Thi Vai port./.
