According to international experts, this pragmatic strategy enables the region to maintain dialogue channels while protecting national interests amid intensifying global strategic competition and trade protectionism.

The US Ambassador to ASEAN emphasized that as a partner, the US wishes to continue to strengthen ASEAN's central role in the region for an open, connected and resilient Southeast Asia.
