The world’s leading construction company wants to cooperate with Vietnam

Vietnam government will welcome and create favorable conditions for reputable investors to engage in development projects of transport infrastructure.

August 3rd, Vice Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung had a meeting with Department Director of VINCI Concession (France). In the meeting, Deputy PM appreciated VINCI’s interest and desire to expand cooperation with Vietnam in the field of investments and development of highways.

Deputy PM said, though being devoted a lot of attention, transport infrastructure in Vietnam has been still inadequate and inconsistent with development needs.

Growing demand for passenger and goods transport exceeds capabilities of the transport system, which cause increases in input cost. Hence, this is an opportunity for foreign investors to cooperate and invest into Vietnam.

Vietnam set a target of constructing a national expressway network along the north-south axis by 2030. The expressways will connect major cities and the largest seaports and airports across the country with other localities.

“Vietnam will welcome and create favorable conditions for reputable investors to engage in development projects of transport infrastructure”, said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Deputy Prime Minister recommended VINCI Concession to work directly with related ministries in Vietnam so as to soon concretize the idea of cooperation.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Fadi Selwan, Department Director of VINCI Concession, expressed desire to cooperate with Vietnam in the field of highway development. The company will partner to exchange experience, transfer technology of management and operation of expressways./.
