To Lam Elected as Party General Secretary
President To Lam was elected as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam for the 2021-2026 term at an extraordinary session of the 13th Party Central Committee on August 3 morning.

Party General Secretary and President To Lam will preside over the work of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, according to the responsibilities and powers prescribed by the Politburo.
Earlier, the Politburo had assigned President To Lam to manage the workload of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat.
