Representatives of World Vision and Hoa Binh province signed the partnership agreement on November 4th in Hoa Binh province.
Accordingly, the second phase from October 2015 to September 2018 will be implemented in four communes in Yen Thuy district, including Lac Sy, Lac Luong, Lac Hung and Huu Loi. World Vision’s main projects target at education, nutrition, child protection, capacity building, child sponsorships and livelihood.
Most vulnerable children, including orphans, abandoned and disabled children, those living in poor families and the dropouts, will be involved in World Vision’s interventions. The organisation, partnering with local relevant departments, will support the children to improve education and life skills.
World Vision will also contribute to protect them from abuse, exploitation and injuries. Children aged under 5 will get improved nutrition conditions through integrated models such as nutrition clubs for mothers and livelihood for parents. Meanwhile, poor househoses with children aged under 5 will learn to boost their access to market in order to advance their financial ability.
World Vision’s first phase in Yen Thuy from 2011 to 2015 with a total budget of nearly USD3 million benefited around 31,000 people, including 6,000 children in terms of nutrition, livelihood and education.
Besides Yen Thuy, World Vision is present in Lac Son and Mai Chau districts. The organisation has invested over USD5 million into community development work in the three districts, benefiting around 63,000 people since it started its projects in Hoa Binh in 2008./.
