Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Hong Hai is leading a Vietnamese delegation to attend the World Radio Communication Conference 2015 (WRC - 15) held by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland from November 2nd-27th.
The agenda of this year’s conference was firstly discussed at the WRC - 07, approved at WRC - 12 and adopted by the ITU council three years ago.
Apart from contributing joint opinions during the conference, the Vietnamese delegation made proposals focusing on how to ensure harmonisation between the use of radio frequency of Vietnam and other nations worldwide and protect Vietnam’s interests in allocating and planning radio frequency.
|
It also focuses on additional allocation of frequency bands for broadband radio communications, satellite communications and modification of regulations related to frequency and satellite orbit management.
Vietnam has been elected to the Radio Regulations Board (RRB) under the ITU and Director Doan Quang Hoan was chosen to represent Vietnam for the 2015-2018 term.
